yellowing leaves litter lawn after
windy rainy day
but trees still stand proudly bearing
multitude of greenness
trees ------mature and mighty
offering shade and beauty
standing strong against wind whipping
across the ageless prairie
winter approaches
but right now
from trunk to tiny top branches
there is sap flowing
maybe I’ll take up the hammered dulcimer
